Reblogged from Grits and Sushi:
I've been going to quite a few art exhibits recently, especially photography exhibits. Those visits are helping me to think through how Okinawa has been and is being framed and gazed upon through art/photography. Last week I went back to Sakima Art Museum. I haven't been there in about a decade. It was good to see some new pieces and return to the permanent exhibits--the panels on the Battle.
Wonderful post about museums in Okinawa and a parent's remembrance on the war's impact on life during and after the war.
